Cover Change for Abyss #1

ABYSS #1, the premiere issue of the pre-acclaimed new series by well-known humorist Kevin Rubio and brand-new publisher Red 5 Comics, has undergone a cover change just days before its launch date of October 17, 2007.

In a series that kills off its title character before the first issue is released, readers should expect the unexpected from ABYSS. The comedy issue that parodies many of the conventions of costumed hero comics was originally solicited and promoted with a cover featuring the tattered cape of hated super-villain, ABYSS, on his deathbed, with helpless figures standing in the street shadows.

In case you missed it, glimpses of the original cover may still be online with their early reviews of the superhero comedy series…

Be sure to pick up your copy of ABYSS #1 and the great new cover starting next week, October 17. Red 5 Comics makes its on-shelf debut this Wednesday with ATOMIC ROBO #1.

That’s too bad. The original cover was a nice homage/swipe/legal problem. Alas. I’ll still be getting the book. The previews have been a lot of fun.

    the original cover was better…
it’ll make a nice extra for the TPB (hint, hint!)
