Strong Debut for Red 5 Comics

When Red 5 Comics debuted in October, we were hoping for a strong start for our little indie comic company. And thanks to the hard work of all of our creators, we got that strong start as shown in the October sales rankings from Diamond. From Comic Book Resources:

“Coming in with only 0.05% of the overall unit sales for the top 300 comics was Red 5 Comics. This new publisher released its first comic in October with “Atomic Robo” #1 which came in at rank #284 with an estimated 3,689 units sold to retailers. For a new and unknown publisher this is a remarkably strong start and is roughly on par with the estimates sales of established titles like “PvP,” “30 Days of Night” and “Wasteland.”"

While #284 doesn’t initially sound high, it’s actually pretty good for an indie. Think of it as a marathon race where Marvel are the Kenyans, DC is the Scandanavians, and Red 5 is the fat guy that rolls off the couch to join the race. We not only placed in the race but we did so solidly among the indies. We’re pretty happy!

Onwards and upwards!
